The University of Kansas’ Information and Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC) provides an interdisciplinary research environment that capitalizes on partnerships with industry, community, and government entities to advance knowledge and develop information and telecommunication technologies. ITTC’s mission is to

  • Create the fundamental knowledge and technologies required to realize the convergence of computing, communications, and sensors for the expansion of our economy and the improvement of our quality of life;
  • Educate the next generation of technology leaders that will drive this convergence;
  • Transfer the knowledge and technology to industry that will enable this convergence.

Averaging $6 million in annual research expenditures, ITTC is one of KU’s largest research centers. ITTC is the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC) Center of Excellence focused on information technology. The Center’s core areas of expertise include wireless communications and digital signal processing, lightwave communication systems, networking and distributed systems, intelligent systems and information management, radar systems and remote sensing, and e-learning design.
